Tues. Oct. 4th- We will be returning to the library to finish up our bibliography assignment and evaluating sources. Keep in mind, we are headed toward a personal essay that touches upon society, culture and history.

You will also need the three articles that you will include in your body paragraphs with you. On Thursday, we will write summaries of these articles and choose sentences/passages that can be included in our essays.

Questions are these:
1. Do you manipulate your parents? How? Why? What is the outcome?
2. Do your parents manipulate you? How? Why? What is the outcome?
When is manipulation acceptable? When is it an act of control?
In class on Tuesday, we read "Teenage Wasteland." In your journal, ask as many questions as you can about the story, and then try to answer those questions and respond to the story. Response should be 2 pages, not including questions.
Nov 18 - I should have all your logs/journals. You completed a free write today in Donny's perspective.
Extra credit - why did we explore Donny's perspective?
Nov. 30 - Those of you who did not finish the questions that went with the short stories "Lies," please have them by Wed.
Also on Wed. you should have finished writing your three body paragraphs for your first Literary Analysis.
Those of you who received partial credit for beginning this process, make sure you finish for homework for full credit.
Friday December 2- rough draft of literary analysis due. If you have this at the beginning of class, you will be allowed to go to computer lab to type this up. Otherwise, you are destined to remain in class with me and complete your rough draft.
